Financial controller rigor meets firsthand board experience.
Course Ledgers was founded because we saw firsthand how volunteer treasurers and program directors get overwhelmed by tuition reconciliation, payroll, and financial administration.
Experienced accounting leadership designed for non-profit and educational boards
We bring two complementary perspectives to every organization we serve: corporate financial controller discipline combined with practical, in-the-trenches board treasurer experience.

- What Boards Need: Financial reports delivered monthly and ready for the annual audit—on time, clean, and accurate.
- Enrolment Realities: Implemented this integrated accounting automation firsthand for a local heritage language school.
How We Work: Built on trust, clarity, and boundaries
We believe financial administration should protect your organization's internal controls, never compromise them.
We never touch the money
No signing authority, no payment release rights, and no possession of your bank credentials. Every disbursement approval and banking control stays exactly where your board placed it.
Fixed fees, always
Our fixed monthly fee is agreed upon in advance, all-inclusive, and software is covered.
We say no when it is not a fit
Some organizations need a full-time in-house bookkeeper or on-site administrator. We will be upfront about that on our very first introductory call rather than sell you something that won't succeed.
Common questions about our services
Are you chartered professional accountants (CPAs)?
No. We provide specialized bookkeeping, fee reconciliation, payroll, and financial administration services—not statutory audits or assurance opinions. Year-end audits and review engagements are performed by independent CPA firms of your choice. We prepare the clean financial schedules and working papers that your auditor works from, saving your organization thousands in CPA billable hours.
Where are you based?
We are based in Calgary, Alberta, and serve language schools, clubs, preschools, and enrolment-based organizations across Canada. Because our stack is 100% cloud-based, collaboration is effortless regardless of your province.
Who owns our data and software subscriptions?
Your organization always owns your data and accounts. Even though we pay for the tool subscriptions as part of our monthly fee, you are the master administrator. If you ever decide to transition in the future, your financial history stays with you.
What happens when our volunteer treasurer changes?
That is one of the biggest reasons organizations hire Course Ledgers. When your treasurer completes their term or moves on, there is zero disruption. We provide continuous institutional memory and onboard your incoming treasurer smoothly.
